Safed's Tourist Information Center is located on Alkebetz Street, below the Ari Ashkanazi Synagogue, between the Kosov and Abuhav synagogues. 

It is sponsored by Safed's Partnership 2000 community, the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach FL and is activities are coordinated by the Livnot U'Lehibanot Israel Experience Program. 

Visitors to Safed are welcome to walk in to read the wall posters which detail the history of Safed, and a second exhibition which relates the story of the War of Independence in Safed. 

Maps, guidebooks, pamphlets and information about attractions throughout the North are available, as well as explanations and instructions for planning a visit. 

A 10-minute movie is available for viewing in Hebrew, English or French, describing the history of Safed from the time of the Spanish Inquisition through modern times.  A small memorial wall is dedicated to the children of Safed who were murdered in Ma'alot in 1973.

 

The Visitors Center is sponsored by Livnot U'Lehibanot, an Israel Experience program for young Jewish adults who wish to come to explore their Jewish heritage, and Israel, in an open and questioning manner.  The Center provides visitors with information about the programs that Livnot offers to young adults, aged 21 - 40, as well as volunteer activities in Tzfat.

מרכז המידע נמצא ברח' אלקבץ, מתחת לבית הכנסת אר"י אשכנזי, בין בתי  הכנסת  קוסוב ואבוהב. המבקרים מוזמנים להכנס ולהעשיר את הידע אודות צפת ומאורעות מלחמת השחרור בה.

במרכז תוכלו למצוא מפות, מדריכי דרך וחומר קריאה נוסף על טיולים  וסיורים בצפת, בגליל ובגולן.

כמו כן תוכלו לצפות בסרט קצר בן 10 דקות המספר על ההיסטוריה של צפת מתקופת גירוש ספרד ועד זמננו.

במקום קיימת פינת זכרון לילדי צפת שנהרגו בפיגוע הרצחני במעלות.
